School begins in Week B

• Students in Year 7 and Year 13 return on Thursday 2nd September 2010
• Students in Years 8,9,10 and 11 return on Friday 3rd September 2010
• Students in Year 12 return on Monday 6th September 2010.
  (Year 12 options will be confirmed by appointment on 2nd and 3rd September 2010).

Mr Robert Simpson (Headteacher) said that Post-16 results had improved significantly this year.
“We have seen a pass rate of 86% in all exams in Year 13 and an 85% pass rate in all exams at AS Level. Alongside the improved pass rates students have achieved higher grades and therefore higher average point scores.
We are very pleased with the improvement that has been achieved which we attribute to the hard work of students and staff and to the engagement and challenge of lessons that ultimately have enabled most of our students to be successful.
Pleasingly, we had 100% pass rates in A Level Business Studies, Chemistry, Art & Design, English Literature, Drama, Media Studies, Sports Studies, Critical Thinking and BTEC Level 2 courses.
We will obviously be looking to build on this further in the coming academic year!”
